The third largest hammer exhibition in the world is located right next to the Village. We organise excursions to see the collection of 500 hammers and other exhibits donated to the Municipality of Ignalina by Žaneta and Antanas Kibickai.
Constantly updated, the collection has a wide range of hammers, from tiny to huge, coming from all over the world: Morocco, Kenya, Portugal, Aliaska, etc. Each tool has its own story and purpose. For example, there is a special hammer for cracking the crab’s shell… The majority of items, however, are tools of national craftsmen: blacksmiths, shoemakers, carpenters, wood carvers. The collection includes some interesting items such as stone-age chopper, medical, culinary and radio engineering tools.
Duration: 1 hour. Price per person: 1 EUR.
